Thank you for visiting my website!
I recently moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, after 3 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico working for KOB4. As a morning reporter there, I was lucky enough to tell the uplifting, inspirational stories of hard-working New Mexicans, and help keep them safe with breaking news and traffic updates during their morning commutes.
I started at KOB as a morning show producer. After about a year and a half I transitioned to reporting for the fast-paced, 2 1/2 hour show. Before that, I was a producer/anchor at KLEW in Lewiston, Idaho. Since it was a small market, I was able to gain expertise in multiple positions throughout the newsroom to become proficient in editing, shooting, and reporting.
I grew up in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!). There I received a B.S. in Broadcast News. While at CU I reported and anchored for Boulder's only newscast, Newsteam Boulder.
I am most interested in using multimedia journalism to encourage community members to take control of their health and wellness. I primarily do that by telling stories about behavioral/mental health, local events that promote a healthy lifestyle, and new, exciting places where people can get outside and enjoy the area they live in.
In order to interact with viewers and feel more connected to the communities I report on, I regularly post updates on social media. I primarily promoted KOB content as well as responded to any questions/comments my followers may have had.
Whenever possible, I prefer getting to know community members in person. I enjoy speaking to college classes about the ever-changing field of journalism and mass communication, and volunteering as a Master of Ceremonies for various organizations and nonprofits.
In addition to journalism and digital media, I am passionate about skiing, hiking, triathlons and country music!
